Another WIP and some lovely gifts
Here's what I started last night:
The beginnings of a hat in Posh Yarn Sophia 6-ply (DK), shade "Cover". Sophia is pure cashmere and just a dream to work with.
Next is a lovely gift I received recently from Carrie Anne - a handcrafted stamp in the form of a ball of yarn and needles! Just the thing to use on labels for the hats I make :-) Thanks again CA!
Yesterday I got a great package, this pretty Calorimetry made by T, that I won by guessing the pattern from a WIP photo :-) Even though I have short hair (at the moment) this makes a fab semi-hat and I've been wearing it around the house :-)
A set of Jamiesons of Shetland shade cards also arrived this week, along with a skein of their aran in a very deep purple - it really doesn't show up in the photo and looks black! I thought these would come in useful for future projects, there are so many colours available and it helps to be able to see them as they truly are. I'm also intending buying Rowan and Colinette shade cards in the future.
I updated the progress bars on here last night as I realised that I was definitely more than 15% into the Yelena cardi - the back has been completed for a while, d'oh! Off to make some egg and bacon now I think, after I've done some speed-vacuuming downstairs :-D Blogging before vacuuming though!
ETA - I forgot to add the photo of my Fetchings! I made these at the end of last year and they have had some use already, however I only just blocked them last week. The photo isn't too accurate on colour though, they are in the deep berry red shade of Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk aran:

I love the stamp and the way the Posh Yarn is knitting up. The Jamieson's shade cards seem like a brilliant idea. I'm using some of the spindrift to make my endpaper mitts and it would have been really useful to have a shade card when I was trying to work out which colours to use together.
The Fetchings and the Cover hat are beautiful!
Aren't Carrie Anne's stamps great?
Love the colour of the Posh yarn hat and the Calorimetry gift!
I love your stamp, Carrie Annes stamps are all fab!
The shade card is a good idea as Kendra mentioned, to work out what shades will work together.
What a wonderful colour the Fetching are. I have been contemplating getting shade cards so maybe I will now.
That Stamps looks so cute and the Image is brilliant.
You've been busy - both knitting and shopping! The Posh Yarn hat is really gorgeous. Thanks for the tip about Odile.
The colours in your posh hat are gorgeous. The shade card thing is something that I recently "discovered" and it is so nice to see the colours properly, and well worth the extra spend!
That PY is gorgeous! Love teh Fetchings too.
Nice gifts!
Such breathtaking colours. Really love them.
I like your 3am hat, by the way. Might have to make one.
Oooh what lovely things! I adore the Posh Yarns hat and Fetching look lovely. Shade cards are a great idea, but I'm not sure how helpful a Colinette shade card would be as the colours vary so much (this thread might help a bit tho http://www.knittingforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1175).
Gorgeous hat in Posh Yarn. I love the knitty stamp too, I'll have to put an order in to Carrie-Anne... Love the 3 am hat too. Just my colour!
Ooooh, your hat WIP is beautiful! I'm in love with those colours!!
I also love the Calorimetry, it's so lovely. I'm going to have to try that pattern.
Oh such lovely things, the hat, stamp and Caliometry, all georgeous.
I'm so looking forward to seeing the hat finished especially :)
Awww, yummy stuff! The hat you're doing is going to look so awesome in these colours - and wow, what a great Calorimetry! And the Fetchings - isn't the pattern the most amazing one? I totally love the yarn you've been using to make them, it looks so elegant and unique! Great job as usual!
Fetching looks wonderful in that yarn, and so neat.
Oh that's pretty worked up. Posh Yarns here I come.
He he, I've stamping away like mad with mine too :) Well done on guessing the pattern, I had no idea.
After seeing your fetching I'm kicking myself I was going to get the alpaca silk for my glampyre bodice but went for the cotton angora instead. It looks fabulous knitted up. They look a dream to wear.
